Enjoyed my 3 years here|Recommended: YesOverall, I enjoyed living here for 3 years. I do have a couple of minor complaints. The appliances countertops and floorring are kind of crappy. They need to be updated badly to keep up with the other apartment buildings nearby. The overall noise level is not that great either, walls need to be insulated better, there are some loud neighbors who play music a lot and I could always hear it.
Good|Recommended: NoIf parking lot could become bigger, it is convenient for me to park easily. Because some lot is for compact car only.
Best management team and building I have ever lived|Recommended: YesI would not leave if I had not bought my own home.I would highly recommend Meridian Ballston to anybody. The maintenance and the management team are excellent I have lived in many rental apt complexes .
Standard Modern High Rise Apartment|Recommended: YesGood place to rent, there is no need to worry that you will be particularly unsatisfied or unhappy with living here There's not a lot of community or any particular charm to the Ballston Meridian, but it is a modern building with good construction, decent appliances, and the comforts of a professional staff that is part of a large organization. The doorman in the evenings isn't amazingly friendly, but maybe that's what you want in a night doorman. The leasing office is generally helpful to work with, but because it's a big corporation, don't expect the rules to bend for you at all.
Don't move in if you plan on ever moving out, they'll screw you over.|Recommended: NoWanted to make two shout outs today Lizzie, thanks girl for not handling my problem with our move-out bill and basically forgetting about it. To refresh your memory, 2 months after we moved out we finally received a bill saying that we owed 200 to replace the vanity. We called about the price because it originally said on the paper we would owe 150 for vanity replacement, and I just wanted that cleared up. Didn't hear back ever so I had to call 4 days later. Que Taylor, my second shout out--you're the best Thanks for telling us that it was actually 2 vanities that were replaced, which should have been 300 but you guys were cool enough to knock off 100 because we were good tenants for so many years. But wait actually there was a mixup, and your information was wrong it wasn't 2 vanities, you just made up the good tenant thing and were actually overcharging for 1, but decided not to give me a call back or email me to let me know. Awesome customer service all around. Thanks guys.

Upon move out inspection, we try to provide residents with an estimated list of charges. When it exceeds that estimate, we should be able to explain it transparently. If you live near the elevator you can hear it constantly going up and down.
Besides parking, fantastic experience |Recommended: YesI would tell them that this is a great place to live. While rent is expensive leading to many people using the sunroom as a second bedroom, it is a great apartment in a good location. Staff is exceptional. The worst part is parking. To be honest, I do not know what was going through the person's head who drew the parking lines since almost 20 of the spots are empty because they are way too small for a normal sized car. Especially when there is all of these signs saying that we will be towed if we don't park in the lines, it is tough when the spots are so unreasonable. The third floor P3 is good because the spots are normal sized. But let's be real, that is a super small complaint. Overall, great place and thanks to all the staff

Great location|Recommended: YesThe good Fabulous location - close to the metro, farmers market, grocery store, mall, stores, restaurants. Maintenance is top notch - very responsive. Concierges are very nice and helpful. Lots of building events and charity projects collecting books food, etc . Apartment is large and has lots of light. Gym is fantastic - very large and well equipped. The bad Facility is getting a little long in the tooth. Appliances are not very efficient and do not appear to have been replaced since the 1990's. Heating AC is way below what you can find elsewhere. Thermostat is very old fashioned and not very precise. It cannot be programmed. Hot water takes easily 2 minutes to run hot enough to get in the shower. Result is higher utility bills. Also do not like that the stove is electric, not gas. Wish the concierge service was 24-hours. No deadbolts or even chains on the doors. Not much security if someone wants to break in.

Could easily improve|Recommended: NoMeridian Ballston has a great location and some great amenities. However, day to day life there can be somewhat frusterating. On the good side you have timely maintenance, pretty good parking, nice common area, nice pool, nice front desk, and a pretty fantastic gym. On the down side you have poor insulation, weak heating and AC, old appliances, a lack of cable options, thin walls, bad electrical wiring shorted out so many of my lightbulbs and I got the expensive ones that are supposed to last a decade , and a typically louder set of neighbors younger people looking for a deal by packing a person in the sun-room . Allowing people to use the sun-room as an extra room to increase the tenant count is a bad idea in terms of being a luxury apartment building, but it depends on the residents they want living here, it appears they are aiming for younger crowds. My AC and heater have been a common complaint over the years I've been here. While I enjoy having the sun-room for space, I can't use it for 9 months out of the year because it's either 90 or 20 degrees in there regardless of my heat ac settings. Maintenance is very responsive, but sometimes there are language barriers. For example, I requested they check the apartment above mine, because I could hear water dripping from above me likely in the W D area , so they painted the inside of my washer I just, couldn't.... There are also some decent events held here. All in all, I think this place averages out to a C, but could easily be improved to an A. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend at this time and haven't , because dollar for dollar, there are better options.
