submitted by Abdulelah A. - |Recommended: YesI like all stuff and security and there events . — amazing location near to the metro station as well as a lot of shops
submitted by Kerry D. - |Recommended: YesGood experience — I have lived her a few months and was pleasantly surprised with lack of noise even living by the elevator.
submitted by Joshua G. - |Recommended: YesNoisy yet great location — Great location in Ballston, building is old and aging
submitted by Laura S. - |Recommended: YesStaff is fantastic — Thank you to Diana and Zevar, they are the best You should give those two a raise Some improvements The carpet is very cheap, the appliances are low quality, and the walls scuff too easily. If you live near the elevator you can hear it constantly going up and down.

While rent is expensive leading to many people using the sunroom as a second bedroom, it is a great apartment in a good location. Staff is exceptional. The worst part is parking. To be honest, I do not know what was going through the person's head who drew the parking lines since almost 20 of the spots are empty because they are way too small for a normal sized car. Especially when there is all of these signs saying that we will be towed if we don't park in the lines, it is tough when the spots are so unreasonable. The third floor P3 is good because the spots are normal sized. But let's be real, that is a super small complaint. Overall, great place and thanks to all the staff

submitted by Judith C. - |Recommended: YesGreat location — The good Fabulous location - close to the metro, farmers market, grocery store, mall, stores, restaurants. Maintenance is top notch - very responsive. Concierges are very nice and helpful. Lots of building events and charity projects collecting books food, etc . Apartment is large and has lots of light. Gym is fantastic - very large and well equipped. The bad Facility is getting a little long in the tooth. Appliances are not very efficient and do not appear to have been replaced since the 1990's. Heating AC is way below what you can find elsewhere. Thermostat is very old fashioned and not very precise. It cannot be programmed. Hot water takes easily 2 minutes to run hot enough to get in the shower. Result is higher utility bills. Also do not like that the stove is electric, not gas. Wish the concierge service was 24-hours. No deadbolts or even chains on the doors. Not much security if someone wants to break in.

On the good side you have timely maintenance, pretty good parking, nice common area, nice pool, nice front desk, and a pretty fantastic gym. On the down side you have poor insulation, weak heating and AC, old appliances, a lack of cable options, thin walls, bad electrical wiring shorted out so many of my lightbulbs and I got the expensive ones that are supposed to last a decade , and a typically louder set of neighbors younger people looking for a deal by packing a person in the sun-room . Allowing people to use the sun-room as an extra room to increase the tenant count is a bad idea in terms of being a luxury apartment building, but it depends on the residents they want living here, it appears they are aiming for younger crowds. My AC and heater have been a common complaint over the years I've been here. While I enjoy having the sun-room for space, I can't use it for 9 months out of the year because it's either 90 or 20 degrees in there regardless of my heat ac settings. Maintenance is very responsive, but sometimes there are language barriers. For example, I requested they check the apartment above mine, because I could hear water dripping from above me likely in the W D area , so they painted the inside of my washer I just, couldn't.... There are also some decent events held here. All in all, I think this place averages out to a C, but could easily be improved to an A. I wouldn't recommend this place to a friend at this time and haven't , because dollar for dollar, there are better options.

The gym is great with up-to-date equipment and a clean environment. The people respect the privacy of others generally by not talking on cell phones. I have had two minor maintenance issues and they were fixed immediately. I like the diversity in ages also. I didn't want to go to a 55 community even though I could. I like the energy of the residents. All in all, you can say I'm really happy I chose to live here Mary

submitted by Gabrielle G. - |Recommended: YesVery Okay — The location of the Meridian is unbeatable at this price point , and that's really the only reason I'm sticking around for now. The cost of parking is quite ridiculously high. I'm not sure how they justify 75 for the first spot and 150 for every spot thereafter - seems positively absurd. It isn't even guaranteed or reserved parking. Just silly. Also our AC has been dysfunctional for a majority of the summer and I often hear loud disruptive noises coming the utility closet. We've work ordered out AC so many times, and I will say maintenance always takes care of it in a reasonable amount of time. Management does a good job of upkeep in the common areas practically constant upkeep , but some details in the apartment are disappointing. The water pressure is very lacking and we keep having issues with our oven storage drawer dislodging and getting stuck just jutting out into our kitchen. I also keep noticing little areas where the previous tenant's paint job was totally botched and I'm not sure how it wasn't caught corrected. Our Dominion bill is also regularly the highest I have EVER seen and I lived in a house before moving to the Meridian. We are very good about conserving energy, so I believe the faulty AC they can't seem to fix is to blame. On a positive note, the gym and the pool are nice and many of the concierges I've interacted with are EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. If you aren't really picky about the details in your apartment and like the general feel of a somewhat luxurious building, the Meridian is probably a good pick for you.

submitted by Bryant J. - |Recommended: YesWouldn't even consider living elsewhere in Ballston — This has been my home for almost 2 years. The view from the 21st floor is phenomenal. There is also a nice rooftop pool. There is also a nice conference room on the first floor which is available for my business meetings. There is ample parking 3 levels of underground parking . Beware the parking spaces are tight, and if your car straddles the white line, it can be towed. If your parking sticker is not in the vehicle, it also can get towed. The ceilings in the apartments are a little bit low, but the soffits are there to accommodate the the sprinkler system, and ductwork for the central air. Now for the best part... The Management and Staff They are quite friendly and respectful. I love coming home and seeing Diana, Wayne, Shawn, Femi etc. at the front. The maintenance staff is professional and prompt. The management team hold frequent resident appreciation events. Thank you Michelle and Nick Zevar is also wonderful to work with. She handled my lease renewal very smoothly.
response from property -Hi Bryant, Thank you so much for such a wonderful review. We know that you have a number of choices available and sincerely appreciate that you have continued to call the Meridian home. Please do not hesitate to let us know if we can be of any further assistance. Sincerely, Taryn S.
submitted by Rocco C. - |Recommended: NoNice building and staff but security concerns persist — My main caveat is regarding the security situation here. I've heard there was a homeless person living in the stairwell and clubroom, discovered only because of a fire alarm and an alert lifeguard Ive also heard that outsiders frequently come and use the pool claiming they are guests. In fact, they are not. They simply come and use the pool with their kids for free. I haven't seen management take any steps to proactively address these issues, especially since residents are subsidizing use of the pool and the security. And for the cost of living here, the lack of action is unacceptable. This is mainly why I wouldn't recommend the residence to other foreign service families at this time. This could change once management advertises how it's being proactive in securing the premises and the pool.
response from property -Hi Rocco, Thank you for your review and for sharing your concerns with us. We take your concerns very seriously. Our staff discovered this unauthorized person loitering on the property and proactively removed and banned him with Arlington County Police. We allow residents to bring guests to the pool and they are required to sign in. In the event that you notice any suspicious activity, please reach out to the office so that we can address it appropriately. Our property manager will reach out to you to discuss your concerns. Sincerely, Taryn S.
